About Kaitlin McAndrews Chartered Professional Accountant
(or K McA CPA to keep it a bit shorter. And it rhymes!)
I’m a Chartered Professional Accountant based in Edmonton, Alberta.
I provide bookkeeping, accounting, and tax services to small business in an online format with a particular interest and focus on owner-manager and professional corporations in Alberta.
As our world changes with the use of AI and other online platforms, the ways that we can stay relevant and modern also continue to change. This online focus to public accounting is not only easier, but it also gives you more time for your business, your family, your life. You deserve for your year end to be smoother and more accessible!
I love accounting and tax, but you probably don’t. You shouldn’t have to spend much time thinking about it; you should be able to let me do it. I want to make accounting as easy, as accessible, and as stress-free as possible.
My Story:
I graduated with a Bachelor in Applied Business Administration program with a focus in accounting in 2013. I did my co-op program with the CRA.
Unsure of what the new CPA program would bring, my husband and I decided this was the best time to try something we had talked about doing: living abroad. We set off across the world and taught English in Korea for one year and Japan for 3 years.
We came back in early 2018 and I jumped right back into the accounting world. I worked at a small local firm specializing in providing accounting and tax to medical PCs and really found my love for working with owner manager businesses.
I took my CFE (The Canadian CPA exam) in 2021 and went to a local mid-sized firm to gain experience and exposure to the audit world. Although interesting, it only solidified my desire to help smaller businesses.
I received my CPA designation in 2023 and have since worked in a fractional controller capacity.
Now, I’m starting what I call my passion project. I see the need for a more digital version of accounting and tax services and want to be able to offer that to small businesses. Technology is making things easier, we should be utilizing that!
